Current Salmonella outbreak: Linked to Pre-Packaged Lettuce Leaves

An outbreak of salmonella infection has been linked to pre-packaged lettuce products widely available in supermarkets.

Salmonella infection is a form of gastro caused by the germ Salmonella and can affect anyone. Symptoms usually appear 6 to 72 hours after you eat contaminated food and can include diarrhoea, fever, stomach cramps and vomiting.

Tripod Farmers Pty Ltd has recalled a number of its pre-packaged lettuce leaves products due to microbial (salmonella) contamination. Food products contaminated with salmonella may cause illness if consumed.
